Community Challenge ‘Golden Tickets’ 2016
It is that time of year and JDP are once again inviting charities and voluntary groups across our work regions to enter a competition and win a golden ticket enabling a much-needed makeover for a valuable community building, This year we are offering two golden tickets (yes two!) one for the Durham region as this is the location of our head office, and one for Sheffield, the location of our new second branch.
We are offering up our services for the day, labour and materials to a worthwhile community project’s building that is in need of a spruce up.
Last year, JDP was inundated with entries for the Community Challenge, from all types of community organisations for their buildings to have the JDP makeover treatment and for them to meet all our lovely dedicated staff!
However, it was Trimdon Grange Community Centre which won the 2015 golden ticket. On Friday the 31st of July 25 JDP employees and tradesmen carried out various jobs including raising the stage and replacing all of the guttering and painting.
The golden tickets for 2016 are now up for grabs and the community challenge, supported by UK Steel Enterprise is promising an even bigger work crew for this year’s winning project.
Chris Hyde, managing director of JDP, said: “JDP are proud of its social responsibility and past fundraising efforts for various charities and It is a privilege to give something back to our local community both in the Durham area and now further south in Sheffield, the works carried out to last year’s winner made a massive difference to the effectiveness of the centre and we are sure that the same will be said of this year’s golden ticket winner”
The deadline for entries is the 24th of June.
